About
Paste usernames and get back what the public profile page publishes about each one: the display name, the numeric user ID, and whether the account is private. Nothing here opens a private account, and the private flag is the boundary rather than a hurdle. Try therock, selenagomez, or beyonce.
How to use
One username per line. Submit and the job polls until it finishes, then the table fills with the fields that were available for each row.
What a public profile actually publishes
Less than people expect. The handle, a display name that the owner can set to anything, a numeric ID, and a flag saying whether the account is private. That is the material this works with, and it is the same material a logged out visitor sees. Anything richer, including email addresses and phone numbers, is not on the public profile and is not obtainable from one.
The private flag is where it stops
A private account still has a profile page, which is why it appears in results at all. What it does not have is public posts, a public follower list, or public media. Searches for viewers that promise to open private accounts are looking for something that does not exist outside of scams. Knowing an account is private is genuinely useful information, and it is the honest end of the road.
Handles change, identifiers do not
Instagram lets people change their username, and the old handle becomes available for someone else to take. A list of handles collected a year ago can therefore point at different people today, silently. The user ID returned here is the stable reference. Recording it alongside the handle is the difference between a dataset that ages well and one that quietly becomes wrong.
Screen before you spend the quota
This lookup is metered by the hour. Running a raw list through it spends that budget on typos and deleted accounts, which return nothing useful. The free username checker answers reachability at no cost, so the efficient sequence is to check first, drop the failures, and bring only the live rows here.
FAQ
Can I see inside a private account?
No. You learn that the account is private and nothing further. That is the whole of what Instagram publishes about it, and no viewer can honestly offer more.
Does the account holder know I looked?
No. Reading a public profile is not an event Instagram reports to anyone, unlike viewing a story.
What is the user ID for?
It is the identifier that survives a username change. If you are keeping records about accounts over time, store the ID rather than the handle.
Some columns came back empty.
The upstream returns what was public when the job ran. A rename, a switch to private, or a failed row all produce gaps rather than errors.
