About
Enter a channel and read the numbers YouTube publishes about it: subscribers, lifetime views, public video count, average views per video, the date it joined, how old it is and the country it lists. One lookup covers what people search for as a subscriber count checker, a video count checker and a channel age checker. Every figure comes from the public channel page and its About panel, so private analytics such as watch time or revenue stay out of reach.
How to use
Paste an @handle, a channel URL or a UC channel ID and press Run. A table of eight rows fills in, ending with the channel ID. When the channel has not published a field, a country it never set for example, that row stays blank.
Subscriber numbers are rounded labels
Public pages show subscribers as a rounded label like 524M subscribers. The table keeps that label in brackets and puts the expanded figure next to it, so 524M reads as 524,000,000. Treat the expanded figure as another spelling of the label: a channel can gain several thousand subscribers without the label, or this row, moving at all.
Total views, video count and the average
Lifetime views and the video count come from the About panel, which reports them in full. Average views per video is worked out in your browser by dividing one by the other and rounding. Be careful comparing two channels on it, because a channel posting daily clips and one posting monthly long uploads will land on averages that mean very different things.
Join date and channel age
The joined date is copied as YouTube prints it. Channel age is calculated in the browser from that date and today, split into years, months and total days, so opening the result tomorrow adds a day. The join date marks when the account was created, which can sit years before the first video went up.
The country row
Country is whatever the owner picked in their channel settings. It is not inferred from the audience or from an IP address, and plenty of channels leave it unset, in which case the row is empty and nothing has gone wrong.
How fresh the figures are
Results for a channel are cached on the server for about ten minutes, so repeat lookups inside that window return the same snapshot. To track growth, check back later or paste each result into a sheet and compare the rows yourself.
FAQ
How can I see how many subscribers a YouTube channel has?
Run the channel and read the subscribers row. The text in brackets is exactly what YouTube prints, such as 524M subscribers, and the number before it is that label written out.
How do I check when a YouTube channel was created?
The joined date row is the date from the channel's About panel. The row below turns it into years, months and a total number of days.
Can I get a channel's exact subscriber count?
Not from public pages. YouTube shows a rounded label, and the expanded figure here only restates that label, so it is not a precise count supplied by YouTube.
Why is the average views per video so much lower than the channel's hits?
The average is total views divided by video count. A few breakout uploads mixed with many quiet ones produce an average that describes neither group.
